YouTube is a popular video streaming platform all over the world. It has lots of interesting content and is also a platform for people to try new careers as a YouTuber. Recently, YouTube has added a new functionality called “Video Chapter” for YouTubers to use. As the name implies, this function will divide the video into sections or chapters.
Channel owners only need to add a timeline starting at 0:00 in the video details so that the viewers can then skip the timeline. Interestingly, each timestamp can be added to the title.
For example, if a video is longer than 1 hour, it can be divided into 3 sections – Chapter 1, Chapter 2 & Chapter 3. Easily skip viewers between chapters.

This functionality has been tested since last month. It’s only recently Google has officially released this function. According to sources, it is seen appearing on the web version of YouTube and apps for Android only. Videos will also not be automatically segmented and the video owners need to do the settings for only a few videos. Google also reported may use machine learning to isolate them like music videos.
