The Indian government has previously banned more than 250 mobile applications in recent months. This ban follows issues of personal data collection and user privacy.

Among the mobile apps banned in India include TikTok, WeChat, UC Browser, some Xiaomi-related apps, and games.

Most recently, India has acted more decisively by completely banning 59 applications after the representative failed to submit improvements on data security and privacy issues.

This permanent ban is subject to Section 69A, India Information Technology Act for reasons of national security. In the meantime, users in India can still download and use some applications.

The Times of India reported that the relevant company had issued a notice on the issue to its users. So far no full list of applications listed has been banned indefinitely in India.
