WhatsApp tests Video Call functionality with 8 Participants

Video calling is becoming more and more important as almost all of the world practices social networking. Whatsapp will soon launch support for up to eight individuals in one video call.

WABetainfo reports WhatsApp is currently testing support for video calls for up to eight people at a time. Users will be given the option to choose who to invite in the WhatsApp group video call.

Additionally, users will also be given a video call option through the option labeled “new group call” within the call tab.

This functionality has been released into the WhatsApp beta. To try this function, everyone you want to contact needs to install the latest version of WhatsApp beta. Offered on Android and iOS, this beta also requires you to enter the name of the contact you want to call in the contacts list.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp added the option to make up to four video calls at a time.

As WhatsApp’s latest functionality is already in beta, it is anticipated that video calls will reach eight of these users in the near future.
